Hello to all,

I use Outlook 2016 FireFox 60.3.0esr (64-Bit) Quantum and SharePoint-Server 2013.

I receive Emails with links to documents stored on the SharePoint-Server (SP). When I click on the link it opens in FireFox (FF) and can only be downloaded but not opened directly. If I open the link in InternetExplorer (IE) it can be directly opened. My standardard browser is FF and I would like to open those docs directly. I have not found any solution so far, neither plugin or addon.

Can anybody please help? Thank you.

Are these links to Office documents, like Word and Excel documents?

In the old days, there was a Microsoft add-on for Firefox to work with documents on the server using WebDAV, but in Firefox 52+, those plugins no longer run.

SharePoint has a new way to work with documents similar to Office365, and those editors are cross-browser compatible. However, I don't know how to take one of the links you're getting and trigger that in-browser editor, or perhaps you prefer using a locally installed Office app anyway.

You may be stuck opening those links in IE.
