Can the developers add a minimize to taskbar setting so Firefox can stay in memory for instant opening since the add-on has been disabled for that function?

There used to be an add-on that allowed you to load Firefox upon boot and minimize to the taskbar notification area. This add on made opening of the browser instant which was great for HD users and even made it faster than loading from a SSD drive. There was also the same type add-on for Thunderbird, but the latest version of Thunderbird broke the functionality of that add-on. Can that functionality be returned as an option for both programs as if one has a lot of taskbar programs, space is at a premium and most systems have more than enough system ram to spare.

Hi, Support Volunteers never see /hear from Developers. You can go to the 3 Bar Menu --> Help --> Submit Feedback which will be reviewed by a team of experts or this goes to the same place : Feedback: https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/ Or can submit for Extensions/add-ons : https://discourse.mozilla.org/c/add-ons

I would thing you would and should be doing it as this is done from a batch file with switches.

This is old, may work :

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

The feature that was broken in Firefox and now Thunderbird, was the ability to minimize to the taskbar notification area that is normally found on the right side of a taskbar. None of your options do this.

Microsoft does not want that. Programs can not be certified by Microsoft especially browsers though some programs get away with it.

I have seen nothing for what you want.

Make one.

I disagree with your answer, I have several 3rd party programs that stay loaded in memory AND show up as an icon in the notification area of the taskbar. That area was meant for MTB programs. There was at one time add-ons to Firefox/Thunderbird that would do the same thing, but with the new changes that functionality was broken. Now it needs to be an actual part of main program. Your answer really does not help with the problem.

@bobn9lvu, care to list those programs that your mentioning then? If that is the case cause if the O/S doesn't permit or give you that option to install it to the taskbar your not going to be able to do that. And I'll state it right now neither Chrome, IE, or Edge stays in the taskbar so your saying only FF is misleading here. None of those other Browser stays in the TaskBar and I have all 4 of them installed on my computer.

Theses are some of the programs that minimize to tray and stay resident in memory. It is NOT a case of installing to taskbar being an OS option, but is more of an option in the program after/during installation as a built in option of the particular program whether it is a browser or utility.
