I have two minor things that are irritating to me, and i would like to know if it's possible for me to change them.

1) When i bring up the Find bar, is there a way to have it start cleared? That used to be normal behavior, and i don't search for the same thing multiple times, so i've gotten used to closing the Find bar, reopening it (because it selects all in the bar), Backspace, and closing.

2) When i bring up the Find bar, is there a way to prevent it searching while i type in the bar? Normal behavior used to be that it didn't search until you hit enter, and i liked that functionality. Now, because i can type quickly sometimes, it will freeze up for a split moment if what i'm typing doesn't exist on the page, then is slow to react while editing the query.

Not sure if i can personally change these, but i would love it if i can, through about:config or something. Thanks in advance!

Removing autocomplete results If you want to remove an entry from the autocomplete list: In the location bar, use the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight the entry. Press Delete to remove the item from the list.

Or To also turn off or restrict autocomplete results displayed in the drop-down list below the location bar See Click here How can I control what results the location bar shows me?

Thank you for the reply, but i meant the find bar (Ctrl+F), not the location bar (URL).

Sorry. I read that wrong. Hope this one helps you out You can disable that feature in the Firefox by following steps: Go to Menu ≡ > Options > Advanced > General Then Un-mark the "search for text when I start typing" preference.

Or

Try this one Go to about:config, search for browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled change its value to false
