How to eliminate ad.doubleclick.net tabs
Ad.doubleclick or some variation of it opens a new tab with a totally blank screen when I click on anything in a web page that should create a new tab with relevant information. How can I prevent this. It just started when I upgraded to windows 10.

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar and search for prefs that refer to doubleclick.net. You can reset user set (bold) doubleclick.net pref(s) prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value.
