Update to version 31.6.0 did not delete version 24.4.0
In Windows 8 under "Programs and Features" I find that apart from the current version of Thunderbird (31.6.0) Thunderbird 24.4.0 is also still installed. Does Thunderbird not deinstall previous versions automatically when updating?
Can I safely delete version 24?
Thank you for your help.

You will find the programs and feature has a ghost entry and removing 24 will remove the current version. You need one of the many registry fixer programs that remove these phantom entries. Windows actually does a poor job of managing installed programs, so this sort of situation is not uncommon.

Hello Matt,
Thank you for your help.
Therefore, I will not remove version 24 because I still need version 31. I will just leave it as it is.
Then, I suppose that the same holds true for Firefox 28 and 37 which are both shown. Is my assumption correct?
Thank you for your support, Holger
you assume correctly.

Yeah, this kinda sucks. I've got dozens of such entries. Matt, what's the best bug report for this?
