Yes, Facebook and youtube also pop this message, but some sites work, ie MSN.com. Everything was working fine and this just started when I went to refresh the Facebook page last night.

Thank you very much for your time and quick responses. I had not installed Fiddler and it wasn't showing up in the uninstall listing, so I ran adwcleaner and that removed whatever was causing my issue. Once again Thank you for time. it was very appreciated.

support.mozilla.org uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

I don't use either of the secutiry software listed in the forum. I use zonealarm and did not find a SSL setting listed in it.

Alternatively, you can click the padlock or globe on the left side of the address bar, followed by "More Information" and "View Certificate" to check the certificate information (if you have already connected to the site).

Copying the steps from there: The file cert8.db in your profile folder may have become corrupted. Delete this file while Firefox is closed.

  1. Open your profile folder:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select The image "Troubleshooting Information" does not exist.. The Troubleshooting Information tab will open.
    • Under the Application Basics section, click on Show Folder. A window with your profile files will open.
    • Note: If you are unable to open or use Firefox, follow the instructions in Finding your profile without opening Firefox.
  2. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and then click Exit Close 29
  3. In Windows Explorer, click on the file named cert8.db (or cert8 if extensions are hidden)
  4. Press Delete.
  5. Restart Firefox.

cert8.db will be recreated when you restart Firefox. This is normal.

Reinstalling Firefox will not help for this issue. If you do not remember installing Fiddler which is causing your problem, you can uninstall it from your Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features/Add or Remove Programs list

If you did install Fiddler, you can add the certificate by following the steps on their web site:

To access the dialog in that post, you can go to:

  • Tools (or New Fx Menu) > Options > Advanced > Network

Note that FiddlerRoot (DO_NOT_TRUST_Fiddlerroot) usually indicates unwanted software being installed named similarly to BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard
