Firefox lacks a placeholder while loading: can one be added?
My computer is old and very slow by today's standards. As a result, Firefox (and just about everything else) takes several minutes to load. There isn't much that can be done about this, save upgrading the hardware! However, there is one small annoyance that can be fixed: Firefox does NOT provide a placeholder or "splash" while it is loading, so I cannot tell if it is actually progressing or if I missed the shortcut. So... is it possible to add a placeholder or splash to the browser so I can know if it is or is not loading?

Still works, but you need to override compatibility to get it to install.
"Splash" for Firefox 4 installs, but doesn't work (no splash screen). Luckily, Firefox 4 loads much, much faster than previous versions, so a lack of a splash screen is much less of an issue.
The previous version of "Splash" will not install via the Add-ons app; I have no idea how to "override compatibility," or even what that means (shouldn't it be "override incompatibility"?).
