Planning to both create a new email, and switch to Thunderbird. One thing I don't want to set up my email with, is with google services, so I was curious if I could get an email almost like 'example@thunderbird.com' Is this possible?

TB doesn't supply email accounts, and the ones @thunderbird.net are for employees only. There are many mail providers, free and paid, and outlook.com, AOL, GMX, Yahoo, fastmail etc. are among the most popular (besides gmail).
