defaulting to bing

It is most likely because your homepage is set to Bing. to change that, click the menu button, select settings, click home on the left menu, and under Homepage and new windows and select Firefox Home (Default) or Custom URLs, and select custom URL if you want Google.com as homepage, or set default for Firefox home.

If you want to change your search engine, do this : Click settings, then click search. After that, look for the default search engine, and click the dropdown menu and change from a search engine to another.

when i press firefox icon it goes to bing as a browser

Firefox is a web browser and not a search engine. The Bing you are seeing in Firefox is likely as a search engine or set as you homepage in Firefox.
