I've used Thunderbird for years, and I LOVE it! A few days ago, my hard drive died. I had it replaced, and I've used my data backup to recover much. I did NOT have programs/apps backed up. I need VERY SPECIFIC steps to download and reinstall Thunderbird so that it uses my old profile. Should I first delete EVERYTHING having to do with Thunderbird and start anew? I did download it today and then went to the C:Users/Owner/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird folder. In that folder, I deleted the "new" profile file (I think!). Then I moved my backed up folder called Profiles into that directory. I tried to get Thunderbird to use that profile, but no luck. I'm reasonably intelligent (I've been told!), but I can't figure how to do this, and I truly need a step-by-step blueprint. Do I download Thunderbird first? If so, what do I then do to make it find the old profile. I'm running Windows 11 Home on a PC. Right now, I'm going for a long walk to clear my brain. In the interim, if one of you really smart, nice experts could give me instructions on how to do this, I'd be eternally grateful. I have numerous folders, and some really important old emails in that old profile. I also would like to be able to retrieve my address book and calendars ... which I ASSUME are part of the old profile. Thanks in advance for ANY assistance! Don't assume I know ANYTHING!!

can I reinstall 128.03 that is the version set on my Furi phone FLX1 , a Debian Linux phone. I find that the browser keeps on locking up. It freezes, some 4 times today!

Having posted that I was unable to get an email account working on Thunderbird. In frustration I removed it and reinstalled. Now its seems when I try to open it, it says the app cannot be found. It seems to have got worse and worse as the day goes on

So now even when downloading I cant open it. All this whilst trying to negotiate Windows 11 for the first time. I cant find the Thunderbird profile on the PC either.... so much easier with W10

Any ideas?

I have a new PC. I'm trying to get Thunderbird working on my new PC. I have the old and the new running next to each other and the settings on both Thunderbird set ups is the same. However on the new PC all I get is "unable to log in at server probably wrong configuration or password. Given that the password is correct, what possibly could I be doing wrong"

I just updated Firefox to version 135.0 on my mobile and now I get this really annoying thing:

Everytime I open a tab to go on the YouTube website, it asks me if I want to leave Firefox and use the YouTube app. Every single time. And it even launched it once without asking me.

I don't want to use the YouTube app, how can I make this stop?

XUL error is not solved: reinstall is NO option, I did this on one laptop and almost all personal data was gone.

When is Mozilla taking responsability and solve this problem ?

Or is is not solvable and do I have to transfer all my personal data to an alternative browser? a lot of work for a stupid error.

Buongiorno. Uso Firefox e ho installato l'estensione Firefox Multi-Account Containers e ho inserito l'icona sulla barra delle estensioni. Dopo un po' l'icona è sparita e non riesco a usare i contenitori. Ho reinstallato Firefox e inserito nuovamente l'estensione ed è successo di nuovo. Come posso risolvere il problema? New version of Firefox (135.0) looks like a narrow window expanding to each side when I open the browser. Is there a way to turn off animations like this and just have the window open normally?

Update fails, apparently in post-refresh hook with the symlinks in /var/snap/firefox/common/snap-hunspell/ pointing to non-existent files in a non-existent directory (e.g. to /snap/firefox/5701/usr/share/hunspell/en_US.aff where /snap/firefox/5701/ does not exist).

A thunderbird update (128.6.0esr->128.6.1esr) fails very similarly.

I used snap to update manually in order to see error messages:

Ongoing dowloads are lost by clear the app from the recents! Might option to stop auto-genrating shortcuts (from the recent browsings) on home! No History deletion ranges! No edges swipe back/forward.

I have had Thunderbird accounts, on various laptops, for many years. I'm trying to get it working, with my existing account, on a fairly new Windows 11 laptop. Everything was working fine until I get to the "Set Up Your Existing Email Address" page. Entered my actual name, email address, and (I believe) password. Chose IMAP, as always. It's stuck on "Checking password". The little dot has ben rolling back and forth for 3 hours. Can someone help me?

I have a Samsung Phone 2024 with Firefox installed and set as my default browser. Firefox is my default browser on my PC, has been for a very long time and always will be. The only way I have found to check for Firefox updates on my Phone is to enable and open Google Play Store. This is not a complaint or serious issue. Only a tiny bit inconvenient. Thank you. Shaun. Hi - I have been looking for over 2 days. How do I import all my data (emails, addresses calendar) from Outlook to Thunderbird.

I have tried Import tool within Thunderbird - import from Outlook. I tried MailStore and was totally confused - the terminology was strange. I managed to make an archive - it took ages to find where it was and I still do not know the file extension.

No videos...nothing.
