This website has hijacked Firefox (http://startsear.ch/?aff=1) how do I get rid of it?

Whenever I try to open firefox the WOT screen appears with a warning that this site has a poor reputation (startsear.ch).

This happened after downloading a vShare plugin.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

The problem still exists. None of the suggestions helped. Whenever I attempt to open Firefox - either by clicking on the icon or telling it to "open", the Firefox website does not open, the startsear.ch web site opens.
