bookmarks disaper from new or original webpage

Original open web page has my bookmarks, when I open or select a bookmark, the new displaced page or the original page all bookmarks and the ribbon disappear

Hi, there definitely is a setting for the Bookmarks Toolbar to appear on all pages or only on the built-in new tab page. The following article describes how to select/switch: Bookmarks Toolbar - Display your favorite websites at the top of the Firefox window.

If the entire toolbar area rolls up, Firefox may have gone into "browser full screen." Unlike the kind of full screen you may have used for videos, where tapping the Esc key returns to normal, the key to cancel browser full screen is F11. See: Use Firefox in Full Screen mode.

If that doesn't work either, hmm, is it possible that the bookmark launched a pop-up window? Usually those have a non-editable address bar instead of the regular main toolbar.
