All bookmarks have disappeared and when I try restore method, nothing happens when I click "restore" in the manage bookmarks window

A couple of weeks ago all of my bookmarks disappeared from my profile. The toolbar is empty and when I click manage bookmarks, the entire interface is blank. When I attempt to do the restoration method suggested in the firefox guide, nothing happens when I click the restore button from the drop down. I tried logging out and logging back in, but that didnt help unfortunately. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

You may be able to find your profile folders and in one of those find your bookmarksbackup folder.

You can use the URL about:profiles to find your profile location

Thanks! I was able to find the back up files. Any idea why nothing happens when I click the "choose file" option from the restore drop drown in manage bookmarks?
