Lose my internet connection after about an hour having to reboot to get it back

I still use windows XP with BullGuard security but it seems as though when looking thru my mail in Yahoo the lock on the tool bar is green but after time I noticed it turned to yellow and shortly thereafter as usual I lose my internet connection and the only way to get it back is to reboot, hence, resetting my personal settings. I have tinkered with both Windows , Firefox and BullGuard but cannot seem to figure this one out. Any Idea's/help greatly appreciated. Thanks

For now, disable BullGuard. It has caused trouble for Firefox.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?
