On a couple of newspaper websites I frequent the comment section will not work. Is there a Firefox that could controls this? If so, how can it be adjusted? I encounter this problem on two newspaper websites not on all them-I visit six different newspaper websites. My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium, my search engine is GOOGLE and my browser is MOZILLA FIREFOX 40.0(X86 en-US). Any suggestions?

Can you provide the specific pages that cause problems?

Do you have any addons installed?

Also, please update your browser. The latest version 40.0.2 fixes some issues.

The websites you gave me use facebook comments.

I see two possible issues:

1) You’ve disabled third party cookies (in Preferences > Privacy tab). Those are needed for some website. Also note that third party cookies permits Facebook to track you (meaning: they know what page you are visiting).

2) The addon disconnect me could be a problem, so as Adblock. Can you try to disable them, one by one, to see if it works? Afterwards, you can configure the incriminated addon to allow facebook comment on the website you want.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
