firefox updated and now says "Server not found",I checked my proxy settings, windows firewall, and Microsoft security essentials

I looked into my proxy settings, and confirmed I do not use one. I deleted firefox from my list of allowed programs and re-added it on windows firewall. I updated my Microsoft security essentials. Windows Explorer connects to websites correctly, but all i get from firefox is Server not found.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
