Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

I followed your steps only to discover that the box was already selected as you advised. Next suggestion? This is not a color or font issue. It is a graphic display issue. Pictures and icons are not being shown, just the alt text associated with them if they have any, otherwise nothing appears.

So did you check the other possibilities about High Contrast from the Website_colors_are_wrong article?

All of the items contained in both of the reference documents were already active on each system. I have created a zip file with four screen capture pictures showing what I'm dealing with. The first picture shows what the site looked like yesterday morning; the second shows what happened when I refreshed the screen this morning; the third shows what happened when I switched the rendering engine on the same tab this morning; the fourth shows what happen when the tab was switched back to original rendering engine. OK. Here is a good one for the books. Almost 24 hours since this issue began, I am now up and running on all systems. The desktop system that I did not make any adjustments to went back to normal; the laptop went back to normal also. I do not know what to make of this. I have not made any changes differently since the last post. So I guess it's solved but let's put an asterisk next to it.
