Installing FireFox 9.0.1 on SLES 10 SP4
Having trouble getting FireFox 9.0.1 installed on SLES 10 SP4 - is it compatible? Any pointers on what libraries need to be updated? Has anyone done this before?

You can check to system requirements to see if you have all required libraries and other needed packages.
Thanks for the reply cor-el,
Your link above is for version 10.0, I have already visited the system requirements for 9.0 however that does not completely solve my issue. What I'm really looking for whether the components required are available and compatible with 9.0.1 (initial attempts would suggest not). And ideally whether there is someone whom has done the installation of FF9.0.1 on SLES 10 SP4 before.
Thanks.
You don't want to be running version 9.0.1 (or honestly, even version 10, unless it is the ESR) anymore, as there are known security holes in both versions. Firefox 11 is the up to date and secure version.'
Regarding your question, does Installing Firefox on Linux help?
Thanks - that's good information to know. Do you have a link or can you point me to the details about the security issyes in 9.0.1 and 10.0 (and 8.0.1 if that also has security issues).
You will want to read https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html, which lists all known security holes. Firefox 11 includes all the fixes listed on the page.
