Update to Firefox 4.0.1 in case that problem is fixed in that version.

Try to toggle some of the Boolean gfx prefs on the about:config page to enable or disable some features. Filter: gfx 

gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading /questions/782325
