Access key issue on the right click menu

ROCKY CHAN

Due to a recent Firefox update, I found that add-ons now have access keys in the right-click menu, which is extremely annoying—especially when their hotkeys conflict with the existing default keys.

Could you please address this issue? It would be great if you could allow users to customize right-click access keys, or consider reverting this feature update.

Hi Rocky, I see the change you are referring to in Bug 2074182 - Extension menu items can be unreachable by accesskey when mixed into a menu that has accesskeys. For both of us, there are duplicates:

So the accesskey "cycles" through them and you have to press Enter to finalize your selection rather than just the one letter.

A bug has already been filed to figure out a way to avoid the duplication, which probably will involve assigning numbers (unclear to me what happens after 9?): Bug 2083997 - auto access key of context menu conflicts.

That probably will take a while to get through testing. I don't know whether there is a mitigation/workaround in the meantime.
