Inbox appears empty after deleting an email

Tombarkas

Recently (last week or 2), whenever I delete an email, the unified inbox shows an empty display, but, if I select the three lines and go to inbox and select it, all the expected emails reappear.

Hi Tom

Could you clarify my understanding of your steps so I can try and replicate the issue.

  1. You start in the Unified Inbox, with more that one email listed.
  2. You delete a single email from Unified Inbox.
  3. After doing so, the other emails disappear and you see an empty list.
  • When you delete an email, do you open the email first or delete from the message list.
  • How are you deleting the email? Left/right swipe or toolbar button.
  • When you select the three lines and tap Inbox, are you tapping inbox under the Unified account header, or switching to an individual account inbox.

Thanks for the reply, Platform34.

I've just realised it happens in TBforandroid on my Pixel 7a phone but not my Honor tablet. On the phone, 1,2 and 3 are yes. it makes no difference whether I select it for deletion without opening it or after opening it. I use the bin symbol on the toolbar After selecting the 3 lines and tapping inbox, everything seems to reappear whether I select Unified inbox or an individual inbox (usually, all of my emails in the Unified box are from a single account).

It's only started happening recently, so I'm suspecting an update, but there's clearly a difference on my two devices. I have v24.0 on both

Edit. OK, I've set every setting on the phone to those on the tablet and, though I didn't think I'd changed anything that would make a difference, it seems to be working now on both.

That's great news. Glad you managed to sort it.

Did you manage to identify the setting that was causing the issue? Having all emails in the Unified Inbox disappear the way you observe is not normal and may be worth logging a bug ticket.

As far as I can tell, I only made minor changes. Sorry not to have useful feedback for folk.
