Thunderbird for Android Community Forum

Hi all I'm banging my head against a brick wall trying to get the app to automatically show remote images. A google search says go to Account settings > Reading mail but this isn't an option in the android app, there is only General Settings and no Reading mail. How can i get my emails to display properly automatically ?

Getting following error trying to setup my Thunderbird email on my cell phone.

Server returned p-input003.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net connection rejected see www.spamhaus.org/query/ip/18.88.32.140 aup#out-1230

I have spent over an hour with Spectrum and all my server settings are correct. Incoming server connects.

Spamhaus says not block listing for 18.88.32.140 but I can't connect to see why Thunderbird is trying to connect to this site. Spectrum has nothing in their files on this site.

How do I get Thunderbird to go to Spectrum servers instead of this site?

BTW my Gmail account works but I could not get Samsung email to configure either but it didn't give any errors just failed to connect.

Hi, When my inboxes are unified I see notifications get delay, and When I turned them back to individual inbox view I see notifications delivered at standard interval..

I'm on Android, simply configured Gmail and outlook for Thunderbird.. Sometimes i get delayed notifications - don't know why ??

Sometimes say Microsoft incoming server fetched failed - like that similar it says...

How can I get the notifications at right time.. What would be the settings i should make..

Lately I found that each folder should be configured like [sync to be off] [push to be enable].. I've done that... What else in that menu we should make on/off . [attached screenshot]

I just thiught to have email notification delivered on right time.

Within my Outlook.com email account i have an archive folder with 36 sub folders.

In the Thunderbird app for Android only 2 of these sub folders are visible.

I cannot find any setting that to resolve this issue

I am trying to set up my email account on Thunderbird for Android, but the incoming server configuration fails during the validation step.Error Message Received:"Checking incoming server settings failed.

Authentication error. The server returned the following message: User is authenticated but not connected."

My Environment & Setup Details: App Version: Thunderbird 21.0 OS: Moto Edge 50 Neo, Android 16 Email Provider: Outlook.com Server: outlook.office365.com Protocol: IMAP Authentication Method: OAuth2.0

I have tried so far: Toggled between Wi-Fi and mobile data to rule out local network issues. Verified that my login credentials work perfectly via the webmail browser interface. Completely deleted the account attempt and retried the automatic setup process from scratch.

I have attached a screenshot of the exact error screen for reference. Any guidance on how to fix this authentication loop would be greatly appreciated.

This issue has been persistent for many months now.

Hi everyone, I’ve been using Thunderbird on Android for emails, and I’ve noticed that notifications sometimes get delayed when I’m gaming on my phone. During longer gaming sessions, emails don’t show up right away and only appear after I exit the game or switch apps.

I’m guessing it might be related to background app restrictions or battery optimization, but I’m not completely sure. I’ve also noticed something similar while playing heavier or modded versions of Stick War: Legacy (https://stickwarmods.com/), where the game tends to keep the phone more “locked into performance mode,” and background apps (like email clients) seem to get deprioritized. In those cases, notifications also feel delayed until I minimize or close the game, which makes me think it’s more about Android’s background process management during sustained gaming sessions rather than the email app itself.

Has anyone else experienced delayed notifications with Thunderbird Android while gaming? Any tips on keeping notifications timely without affecting game performance would be really helpful.

I use a mail forwarding service, Fastmail, used to be Pobox. The entire body of the message is visible in fastmail, if I log in directly to fastmail. I have my fastmail account set to forward messages to a Gmail account, which is linked to my mobile Thunderbird app.

The message header appears in that Thunderbird Inbox, but the body is empty.

I have checked the message size limits in fastmail, gmail, and the Thunderbird app. They are all at least 10Mb.

The particular message is only 3.7 Mb total according to details on fastmail. Also not forwarding as attachment

Where is the message body?

Thunderbird for Android (unlike the standard Android Email) still does not offer the ability to shrink a photo before sending it. The workaround is so clunky, having to use an Android photo editor to shrink images one by one, especially if one wants to send multiple photos, saving each one and then going back to Thunderbird to send the smaller images. Any idea where this feature is in the development list?

When I try to forward an email with an attachment on mobile I get an error that's not fully visible saying "Some attachments could not be forwarded because they have not be...' (I tried rotating the screen to see if it expands but it's the same unfortunately). It works fine on the desktop app, and it also works fine if I manually download the attachment and then draft an email and attach it.

Does anyone know if this is common, or how I can bypass it? I tried but couldn't find any info on this behavior.

I recently set up Thunderbird on my android phone and managed to finally connect my iCloud email to both mobile and desktop (didn't realize i needed two different passwords for each).

After a few weeks of it working fine, I'm now being notified of some authentication issue for mobile. Does this mean I have to re-do the app specific password again? Will this be a consistent thing I would have to do for my iCloud? Don't need to do this for any other email I have set up through the mobile app.

Anyone know of a solution for this? I'd hate to continuously need to revoke and create a new password for just this email address.

I'm coming back to Thunderbird, from bluemail, and was wondering if you could add a feature they had. Essentially, you could tap on the profile icon in the inbox, and you'd get a screen with all the messages you had from that address. From there, you had a button at the bottom of the screen that would open a menu with options to: message, mark all read, and delete all. Theres a confirmation dialog after the delete all option is tapped.

Is this something you could add?

I'm using Thunderbird android app for the first time, and configured my mailbox.org account. Incoming mail appears just fine. I've confirmed my outgoing server settings and I get the message 'Outgoing server settings verified'. But when I try to send a message it just stays in my Outbox. I've tried tapping 'Send message' on the Outbox screen but nothing happens. Any ideas?

Ich habe die Version 22 installiert. Die Signatur hatte ich vor dem Update geschrieben u. eingefügt. Es hatte mir bisher immer die Sig in meinem Format eingefügt. Erst mit meiner kleinen Änderung ging das Format verloren, lässt sich nicht ändern. Egal in welcher Tastatur (gboard od. Samsung), wenn ich versuche einzufügen bzw zu ändern, es wird mir der Zeilenumbruch nur im Schreibmodus im Signaturtextfeld bei der Tastaur nur bei Änderungsversuch des Textes dort nicht mehr zur Verfügung gestellt.
