Thunderbird Android not pushing new notifications
I have checked the settings many times but still Thunderbird for Android either doesn't send new mail notifications at all or does so intermittently

If you use an imap connection to the server, have you tried enabling the "Push" service which gives immediate email notifications. See guide below. Note this is not supported with pop connections.

If you've not already done so, you should allow the app to run in the background and exclude it from any android battery optimisation. Exact steps vary by phone manufacturer and Android version. Try long pressing the TB launcher icon > app info > battery usage
