When scrolling the inbox, then clicking on an email and then double clicking to open the email. The email opens with the hyper link content and does not open the browser. Only if I then click on the https section does the browser open with the content.

Are you expecting an e-mail message in Thunderbird to be opened in Firefox when you double-click on it in Thunderbird?

Or are you expecting a link in an e-mail message to be opened automatically in Firefox when you open the message in Thunderbird?

What is the "hyper link content" of an e-mail message? What is the "https section" of an e-mail message?

By "https section", do you mean that you must click on a link to get it to be opened in Firefox? Someone else complained about that on the forum a while ago. I don't understand the complaint because, as far as I know, one must always click on a link in a message to have it opened in a browser.

But you seem to want something to happen automatically between Thunderbird and Firefox. What exactly?

I am not sure when the change, to me, took place since I have been working through updating and reestablishing my email files after a failure of Thunderbird some months ago. I just remember that the email would automatically open the browser sometime in the past!

When that failure took place I had to reload a fresh copy of Thunderbird and unfortunately I did not have the backups of email that I thought I had, although I have found most everything. But I am still working through the result of that failure and I have over 220 GB of mail although I believe about half of that is duplicates in the Local Folders.

So it is frustrating when apparently sometime ago before the Thunderbird failure that the reading and scanning of email seemed easier because it may have opened the browser automatically.

(So, even when I got your latest message I had to go and link the https section to open the browser to respond to your message.)

P. S. I note that when I double lick on an email item in either Yahoo for Gmail it displays browser content but that doe not happen in Thunderbird.

I am sorry, but you did not answer my questions, and I am still confused. I don't understand what behavior you expect or what you mean by "hyperlink content", "https section", or "browser content".

Apparently, you are expecting Thunderbird to show the contents of your e-mail messages in Firefox automatically. Is that right? But Thunderbird is built to show the contents of e-mail messages in Thunderbird. It is an e-mail client that runs locally on a computer. That is different from gmail and Yahoo running inside a browser.

Why do you want Thunderbird to open messages in Firefox? Why do you think that that is or would be easier than reading your messages in Thunderbird? When you double-click on a message in Thunderbird, don't you see the contents of the message in Thunderbird?

If you click on a link in a message in Thunderbird, that link will open in your browser. As far as I know, that is the only time that Thunderbird will cause an action in a browser.

That is because this forum is not an e-mail application. It uses e-mail only to send you a notice that someone was responded to a discussion. You click on a link (is that what you mean by the "https section"?) and the link opens in your browser so you can communicate on this forum inside your browser. I did not send you an e-mail message, and you cannot respond to me in e-mail.
