Hello, Since yesterday, whenever I click on the tab Extra/options, the Options page opens on "General", but I cannot scroll or go on to another subsection like "privacy and security". Firefox freezes and I have to "control/delete" to close the program. Now, the last time I did this, I got a black screen. On restarting my pc, a message from my antivirus programm appeared, saying that I an error had occured and that I had to reinstall. So that's what I did and the antivirus works again.

I have already downloaded and reinstalled Firefox, but the issue remains. Everything else from Firefox works fine, except this Extra/options menu.

Further to my question: maybe this has something to do with it? I recently installed a localhost for Wordpress to get acqainted with this programm. The internal url has the prefix http:// instead of the secure https:// because there's no need for it. But firefox kept changing the http:// to https://, and finally asked my agreement for an exception to the rule of no access because of unsafe. Which I accepted. And then I had access to my localhost.

Maybe this created a conflict with my antivirus add-ons (Norton safe search and Norton Safe Web)? I don't know. Anyhow, my Norton 360 antivirus crashed after the black screen described above.

I hope this helps :-)
