I have noticed that on Newgrounds.com the adobe flash player keeps crashing, crashes typically happen less than a minute after the flash starts. However, after trying some troubleshooting I cannot even get it to start.

I have been having this problem for a while not but just now finally buckled down to do everything that I can to resolve it.

I am using Windows 10. Here is the list of things that I already did in order to try to resolve the issue:

1. Windows is and was already set to update automatically (when I manually tried to search for updates it just kept "loading"

2. Checked for adobe flash update. Everything is up-to-date except for adobe reader which says that there is an update available, but when I try to update it then it says that I already have the update, but it still shows that the update is available as if I do not have it.

3. I tried using the flash player without hardware acceleration

4. I refreshed Firefox

5. I tried starting Firefox in safe mode and then tried to see if the problem was still there, but then it said that I did not have adobe flash player and would need to install it. I attempted to install it but then it said that I already have it. Now I cannot get the flash player to work at all even out of safe mode as the page keeps saying that I need adobe flash player

6. I tried uninstalling adobe flash player since I read that Windows 10 has it's own flash player and that this solution worked for someone else. The problem in which the page says that I need adobe flash player is still just the same as it was before, and when I try to reinstall it it says that I already have it. I checked the "programs and features" window of my computer and the flash player is not listed, so it seems that I do not have it and cannot get it even though I am being told that I do have it as well as do not have it.

Thank you.

@Truthb4Me

1) in windows 10, the Flashplayer you are referring to is for the EDGE browser only. Firefox uses NPAPI based plugins unfortunately.

2) You will need to make sure that is installed under control panel - uninstall a program. If not you can either go to the adobe site and get it or use a bat file to clean install which pulls the necessary flash files from adobes site here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/adobeflashupdater/files/BAT%20version/

3) IF you still experience crashing I might interest you to try an alternative solution as long as you are willing and know how to make a bat file. I will provide that information on a as needed basis.

Best Regards

Note: Edge on Win10 does not use ActiveX version but its own Flash.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Flash Player Version 19.0.0.245
https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
Note: Windows users should download the ‘’’active_x’’’ for “Internet Explorer,” and the ‘’’plugin’’’ for “Plugin-based browsers” (like Firefox).

Adobe still offers Flash 18.0.0.255 as its extended support release further down

Sorry for the late response. For some reason the responses were not present at the time that the page says they were.

Carm- I indeed do not have NPAPI within my control panel so I went to the site you provided and I searched for it, but there was no such thing to be found. Also, I have no idea what bat files are.

FredMcD- I went to the page that you provided but there was not a download option for "plugin," and even though I do not think it concerns my issue, I also did not see a download option for "active_x"

You need to download the exe installer in the second section (Plugin-based browsers).

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and hardware acceleration in Firefox and try this:
