Since upgrading to the latest Firefox version - 34.05 for mac osx - I can't use my online banking to view bills

Since upgrading - when I attempt to view my ebill from the Wells Fargo account, the link seems to execute, but then I get a blank screen. I called wells fargo and they said this was a known problem and the solution was to use either Chrome or IE Explorer. Really? That is my only option? I don't really want to do that. But I have struggled with this bill pay issue for several months now.

If Wells Fargo says that it is a known problem with Firefox, then it is as simple as that. They probably have some code on the website that doesn't work correctly in Firefox, and instead of trying to fix it they tell their customers to use a different web browser. I doubt you'd be able to do anything about it if they know it's a problem.

Current Firefox versions have enabled a built-in PDF Viewer that doesn't have all features that other PDF readers like the Adobe Reader have or may not function properly otherwise.

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use another application like the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Preferences > Applications".

  • Firefox > Preferences > Applications > Adobe PDF document : Use Adobe Reader

I was unable to affect any change by using the above suggestion.

I tried the above, but the behavior of my Firefox didn't change. Stick a blank window when the link is initiated.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift (Mac Options) > key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

I was not able to use the keystrokes, but I did go to Help/Restart with Add-ons Disabled and the results at the banking website were the same, when I selected view the online bill, no bill was displayed - only a blank window.

Why is that?

Why could you not make these changes? Is there another problem?
