Today, I have received an email, claiming to be from Mozilla support.

The text is garbled but it appears to contain words, 'hacking', 'paynalti', and 'auto-block'. These are words which immediately put me on security alert. I haven't opened the mail but have viewed it in preview pane. and screen grabbed the attached pdf image.

Any comments?

I did not perform this login or authorise anyone else to access my account. I am concerned that someone may have gained access to my account without my permission, and I would like to understand how this happened and what steps I should take to secure my account. very recently perhaps with a McAfee or Thunderbird update , I am seeing a message that McAfee stops a threat every time thunderbird does a message retrieval. see attachments. I have checked my outlook account directly and deleted a bunch of messages but it persists.

Iam getting statements saying someone living in same town as I getting on my account with a Linux or android what is Linux representing and when they say android with one ?? I have 3 different thing's i use but I never use a computer. Lap top or desk type???.

I always get: "newmsg Trojan:WIN/SuspiciousAttachmentScript.a" and "C:\Users\newb\AppData\Local\Temp Trojan:WIN/SuspiciousAttachmentScript.a" from Mcafee when I open Thunderbird. I'm only getting this in Thunderbird and suspect it's a false positive of some kind. It's still worrying and I'd like to eliminate this. This has been going on for a couple of months. I've run several cleaners and anti-virus programs on the system, but it still returns.

I have a suspicion someone is reading my e-mails. I am using Virgin Media as my ISP and have changed the password on my account.

Is that enough to stop my e-mails being read by someone other than me or what can I do to protect my inbox, please?

Since I upgraded to 152.0.1, some s/mime encrypted messages do not display. This happens for both old and new messages. Moreover, for these messages, the flag of "new" stays active even after I click on it, suggesting that thunderbird did not "read" the message. The encryption is done by posteo.de automatically for any email that arrives to me. Even the simplest email just written "test" fails systematically when I send it to myself, but some messages sent from others also fail to display. I have installed the extended support version 140.12.1esr (aarch64) to check, and the emails display fine with it.

Anyone with a similar issue or idea of the problem, which I guess might be a bug? Thanks, cassio.

My default email address ([redacted-1]@btinternet.com) has been hacked and access to my contact list gained. Many contacts receiving emails purporting to be from me.. I have changed my default address to another one ([redacted-2]@gmail.com). What do you suggest I do or should I report it to another organisation? Thanks, Peter Russell

i can still see my email folders but these popups appear for each email account in thunderbird (mac osx high sierra) never saw them before so seems something has been compromised? tried to screencap but it's only showing about: url but urls zip by and was able to catch the url a few times earlier but not now.

This is after setting FF as default again (3rd time today). Got into this problem trying to report that FF behaves differently when using W11 HOME vs PRO. Don't know when this started. This system has been a "home" system from day 1. When I go check defaults with W11, (only O/S on this laptop) it shows that FF is the default browser for many things.

But if I do an update, or have to do a reboot, first time started, it wants to be made the default *again*.

NOTE: Mozilla sent the above email to me that this is FF on Windows 10. This is W11 HOME, not 10.
