When I log into thunderbird, warning messages keep coming up asking me to input my password. The messages keep coming even when I put in the password. It takes a long time to download messages and almost allways blocks me sending. I have to to my providers webmail to do any work.

After downloading and running installer (Thunderbird setup 148.0) from Thunderbird website, Thunderbird opened as usual, showing my three email accounts. The 2 accounts I use for almost everything are both Yahoo accounts (yahoo.co.uk and rocketmail.com). But.. neither of these accounts will work without a yahoo sign-in pop which is pre-filled with an account name (example graphic attachment : thunderbird01red.jpg). 1 example shown but the same thing happens for both yahoo accounts.

The 'Next' button, which I assume will ask for password, does nothing.

I have attempted login via webmail. I enter account name, am asked for password and Yahoo insists on sending me a verification code - to the other yahoo account (the yahoo.co.uk account), which I cannot access! I then attempt to login to the other account to access my pass code and the same thing happens in reverse, telling me that a verification code will be sent to the first account.

Via Thunderbird, which has for years done all this automatically behind the scenes, I can get absolutely nowhere. Via webmail, I am in an 'impossibility loop'. I have cleared cache for each account.

Why won't Thunderbird allow automatic account login, as has been the case since the year dot. These are the 2 accounts around which my entire life is ordered - can somebody please help.

I need help setting my passwords in Mozilla and Firefox. I'm also confused as to what is the difference between the 2 entitities. If there is anyone to guide me would be appreciated.

I set up a new account last week and need instructions on how to navigate and use this forum. I cannot find the question I posted. I got no email saying it was answered. I also need information about these codes I keep getting in my inbox after I've already logged in. I don't know what to do with them. I'm a newbie and need an instruction pdf if there is one. Why does every time TB updates it cause all my Yahoo accounts force me to get new passwords? Is it TB or Yahoo that is creating this problem of me having jump through hoops just to get the accounts working again. BTW the passwords in TB don't work when this happens.

Either this get resolved or I stop updating TB.

Since I updated Thunderbird to 153.0 on Thursday, I've noticed that every time I start Tbird, I get several notifications about authentication errors for the servers to which its trying to fetch mail. The list varies each time, but frequent offenders are Gmail, Comcast, and Yahoo, and occasionally Apple and Microsoft (outlook.office365.com server).

I did not see this issue prior to the update. Sure, once in a great while (< 1x/month), a single server would throw such an error, but now, it's every time I start Tbird.

All the accounts are accessed via IMAP, and those that support or require OAuth2 are so configured.

If I go to the mailbox a little while later, I don't get any errors--this seems to be limited to startup.

I check 15 mailboxes, though many get very little email.

A search from Bugzilla's home page shows three similar reports, none newer that 3.5 years ago. (I can't delve deeper, as my credentials apparently expired and the signup confirmation email has not arrived yet).

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a log of such events (or a way to create one)? ...thanks!

For whatever reason, although I've had this account for years and regularly contribute I always get this page at startup begging me for more money and even if I donate, I can't get past the begging page.

I am now locked out of the account. No login info works and I'm unable to access years of emails

I have not changed my password since I opened the account and frankly I am as aggravated and pissed off as can be. I can't get to do anything at all but read the page begging me for money even after I just made another contribution and although I haven't changed any login info I keep getting the login failed message

Google wants passkeys to install the gmail addresses on Thunderbird. The initial setup was with a gmail address that went through OK with no passkey. I am having difficulty either setting pass keys for the email addresses or something else as I only get the authenticate error message after I think I have setup passkeys. Very frustrated.

Thunderbird indicates that I'm not using a primary password and when I ask to see the password for my gmail account it asks for a PIN. I have no record of a PIN for Thunderbird. I'm instructed to go to setting>accounts to change the PIN. but cannot find it: settings>account settings lead me nowhere.

Thunderbird keeps asking for my passwords for my email account and that of my husband. Despite being on the phone for 90 minutes with Virgin Media and giving them remote control of my computer, the problem is still there, even though it did work for 5 minutes whilst the Virgin operative was on my screen. He signed off and when I looked at my Thunderbird accounts soon after, the problem was back again. All the settings and passwords are definitely correct, so why does it keep asking for passwords every few seconds? Retry, enter new password, cancel. I even made a £10 donation to Thunderbird yesterday, in hope. I am so frustrated because my husband has Parkinson's and I need our emails to work. What on earth is causing this problem or has Thunderbird itself crashed out of existence ?????????????????

Ich habe mir heute das Programm installiert und beim Einloggen werde ich nach meinem Namen, meiner Emailadresse und nach meinem Emailpasswort gefragt, doch leider wird mir immer ein Fehler angezeigt! Ich habe jedoch alle Daten auf ihre Korrektheit überprüft und kann keine Fehleingabe finden.
