Why can I never get past your begging page

For whatever reason, although I've had this account for years and regularly contribute I always get this page at startup begging me for more money and even if I donate, I can't get past the begging page.

I am now locked out of the account. No login info works and I'm unable to access years of emails

I have not changed my password since I opened the account and frankly I am as aggravated and pissed off as can be. I can't get to do anything at all but read the page begging me for money even after I just made another contribution and although I haven't changed any login info I keep getting the login failed message

I regret that you feel that page is begging. Thunderbird is free and that is a gentle reminder.If you wish not to see it, just click settings>general and untick the start page. Problem solved. :)

Don't gobbledy gook me. I know that thunderbird is free but I donate to it almost every other month and I keep getting the begging page wanting more. Also, with no changes to my account in years, it then won't take my password so I can access it. I had to delete it and try to reinstall but I can't find the SMTP etc., settings to get the account up again.

I really don't need your sarcasm or attitude. I need help, not smart ass comments

I believe I was respectful and answered your question. I realize you are upset, but this is peer-to-peer forum, and your offensive statements are unwelcome. As a general rule, reinstalling often causes more problems. I attached a screenshot of where the SMTP settings are done .

I believe the primary issue here is related to signing in, so let's focus on that.

vinny03, you must be very frustrated with the situation you are in, but please stay respectful. I don't think David was trying to mock you. If the advice regarding the start page works, let's move on to the sign-in issue.

An obvious thing, but maybe you could try signing in directly on your email provider's website to make sure it's not them who rejects the credentials (for whatever reason)?
