2 days ago, on 02.05,2026, I was logged out of all my accounts on every website in Mozilla. My history was erased, passwords not saved, but I'm still logged in. That only happened on Firefox, not the rest of my computer.

I am afraid it was a virus or something - can you tell me why it happened?

This AM I attempted to sign into my PayPal Business Acct. I have always done this via password (no biometrics or PassKey for me). Until today, when I was asked for my passkey PIN. I don't have one because I never set it up. I spoke with a woman at PayPal who tried to help me. She said it was probably something that my browser did so I should call FireFox or use a different browser. As for PayPal itself, while it has no record of a paykey, it would allow me to set one up because "this account already has a passkey". I tried a different browser and that ended in the same place. Pass key pin requested. I don't have it. It says that firefox "requested" the passkey. I find that very frustrating because I'm effectively "locked out " of my Paypal business account because of this. I've searched my computer to the best of my ability but I can't find where firefox hid this PIN from. Frankly, I don't see where Firefox gets off volunteering me for a passkey when I didn't ask for it, but not telling me makes no sense whatsoever. Since latest update when trying to view pages with artwork on them I get a message that the page is slowing down Firefox and asks me if I want to stop the page to speed up the browser. I do not want to stop the page so I click the X, but Firefox refuses to load the pages at all anyway! I can no longer view many sites due to this issue. Please get rid of this awful code! Thanks.

Been using Firefox for over a decade. But lately is has become so slow now. Often freezes up if more than two tabs are open or a website is in any way very complex. What settings and issues should I check? What has changed? I can run the same sites on Brave and Edge browsers with no issues or not nearly as slow and bogged down.

The quick links on the home page should be exactly for that QUICK LINKS! not for visited sites! also you only have four rows. OPERA have unlimited. To make matters worse, the stupid sites that I visited only once cannot be removed.

I'm in Canada, when i updated the first Firefox instance had VPN show up but when i opened another it did not (the one with my Firefox account). When i opened a third it was also available.

How do i get it on my main profile which has this account, i use multiple Firefox instances to separate my browsing (Reddit, main, shopping).

I can open gmail but it does not refresh. If I clear the cache it refreshes the first time only. Sometimes I get a message saying that my account is temporarily unavailable but I can access gmail with no problem on my iPhone, android tablet and with Google Chrome without any problems. Turning off the Advanced Tracking does not resolve the problem.

I access Bluesky (bsky.app) for business on my PC. Since the last update, I've been unable to access Bluesky from my regular Firefox browser. I can using other browsers, the mobile app, and, oddly, in Firefox private browsing. I've cleared my browser history, cookies, etc. I restarted the computer. I logged out of Bluesky (and now can't log back on the regular PC account because it claims I'm not connected to the internet). Yet, I had no trouble logging in using private browsing.

I've looked through settings, etc. and can't figure out what could be limiting my ability to access this website.

This issue has been happening for about 1-2 months.

When Firefox is open on my computer, my cursor will randomly lower its frame rate to a very low number, probably below 15 FPS. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, just having Firefox open, even in the background, causes this to happen. No such issues in other chrome-based browsers with or without hardware acceleration enabled. I have disabled all extensions and still encounter the problem.

Disabling hardware acceleration does fix this issue, but then the web, and even high resolution videos, become laggy or choppy as a result. Which is very uncharacteristic for my system, because I remember it being quite snappy in software mode on the my same CPU in the past. So something seems to have gone wrong in recent months that makes acceleration in general poor, with or without hardware acceleration on.

Fire fox is automatically playing videos/sound or both if I click on a tab that has that or also in facebook, etc. How do I stop this? I want to be able to click play when I want to hear/see something.

two days ago, video embeds on Twitter stopped working in Firefox. Please help me troubleshoot the issue, so that I can either fix it myself, or present enough evidence to file a proper bug report.

Affected version: FF 140 ESR. I had some 140.7 installed when the error first happened, but have upgraded to firefox-esr_140.10.1esr-1_amd64 since. Didn't fix the problem. *Not* a snap package, regular .deb!

Affected OS: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, not a fresh install but upgraded from 24.04 instead (which itself was upgraded from 22.04).

Symptoms: Videos on X (and Facebook) no longer play, the preview image is there for a split second, then an error appears. Video on for example Youtube is fine, though. Local players like VLC also do work as expected. Video on X worked under 26.04 before this happened.

The issue likely started when removing surplus packages and metapackages from the upgrade. Sometimes I need to open XML files on my PC or in a network folder. If I open the file in the first tab in Firefox, it displays a neat and formatted rendering that makes it easier to read. However, if I open yet another tab, it displays a sequential text file that's difficult to read. How can I apply the style of the first tab to all open tabs? I've attached explanatory images (I hope). The second image shows how I'd like the XML file to always be displayed, regardless of the tab's position. Firefox 149.0.2 on windows 11

The Firefox browser VPN option and toolbar button for Firefox 150 was originally showing up after a recent update (was not signed into the browser), but when I signed into the account as needed to activate VPN, the VPN toolbar button and options under security settings disappeared. I can't find the vpn button to add back under the 'customize toolbar setting' as suggested. And when I go under privacy and security settings, the VPN section is no longer there. How do I get the VPN options back? I tried signing out of Firefox and then back in. I tried disconnecting 'sync' from the computer and that didn't change anything either. I've updated the browser on all devices I'm signed into to 150.0.1. The VPN toolbar button or setting option does not show up on any device I am using. The only browser I initially saw the VPN options on was the browser that I wasn't initially signed into, and it disappeared after I signed into the browser with the account.
