Firefox crashes

I cannot stop Firefox from crashing since yesterday. It won't stay open long enough for me to try anything including safe mode. I did not add any new extensions or add-ons, but I think Firefox did an upgrade when I logged on yesterday and it's been immediately crashing since. Please help!

In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:

  • Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
