Downloaded Firefox 5.0, but home page is "ASK". Why???

I have attempted to eliminate "ASK" wherever it shows up, but still get the ASK home page instead of Firefox. When I click on getting started, a general information page for Fire fox shows up, but not when I click on my Firefox icon on my desktop.

-> For Homepage and Ask.com, Do this:

Troubleshooting extensions and themes

Clear Cookies & Cache

Clear the Network Cache

Restore the default home page

-> For Incorrect Firefox version, Do this:

Reset your User Agent

Finding your Firefox version

Check and tell if its working.
