was in a site tonite and a red bannered window opened and it said something like firefox security(I saw the same thing in the mozzila page)It ask if I wanted to down load it.I thought it was a scam,so i didn't.Then i did some research, and found it on your security page. Why did this happen and how do I get it back to down load it if it's legit?

Nope, Firefox doesn't do a security scan. Don't download or install crap that is recommended like that.

The banner looked like it.But I had never seen it before or had that happen.I figured if it actually was firefox it would already be there.Don't think it did Shi my comp seems ok and haven't seen it since or before and i've been using Firefox for a few yrs.But I've only gotten one reply on my question so far.But when in doubt don't download.I ran my own anti virus and found nothing.( suggest you do the same, just to be safe)

If it didn't look very similar to a Mozilla security web page, they wouldn't be able to fool unsuspecting Firefox users into downloading their "program". Even with as good as some of those pages look, if you look at the page very carefully you'll notice that the header of the page is missing some elements or the logos are misplaced or whole page looks like a slightly out of focus image.

Happened to me. I printed copy then immediately turned off that computer: "Firefox security alert Scanning of your system is currently on, please wait until the end". "Your system affected by numerous virus attacks, Monzilla Firefox recommends you to install proper software to protect your computer" with a "Start Protection" box at bottom from http://scan27.rodefer.ce.ms/index.php?Q73hNNRbbdJG1xr...

Yes, a page misspelling Mozilla as Monzilla would be a tip off that something ain't right with that "scan" page.
