SMTP suddenly stopped working

more options

Hello,

So - SMTP suddenly stopped working in our whole company. We are using Gmail accounts configured with Thunderbird for a few years already. It's all been working until an hour ago.

Tried deleting and adding accounts, changing authentification to google app passwords etc.\

SMTP servers do have different descriptions.

Just configured an account in outlook and it works out of the box, so I'm guessing it's got something to do with Thunderbird settings, but we didn't change anything, and especially that we have 8 PCs and it stopped working on every one of it.

The error I get when trying to send a message is:

"Sending message failed. The message failed to send because it failed to connect to the outgoing mail (SMTP) server "smtp.gmail.com". The server may be unreachable or not accepting SMTP connections. Please verify that your outgoing mail server settings are correct and then try again or contact your server administrator."

(translated from polish).

Best regards.

Hello there We have read the question We try to help you.

Your SMTP configuration is failing you with this entire department, okay .

have you checked your SMTP configuration and Imap settings or are they filled in correctly? Can you send me a screenshot of both of them?you have 8 pcs running? What kind of PCs are these? Windows PCs? Your most recent Thunderbirds version was this what it s happened with?

And in what time do you have the program for the Last Updated, can I ask?

We tried literally everything, turned out - ISP blocked ports for whatever reason they had. 5 minute phone call solved the problem. Thanks for the input tho.

Hello there

These issues can be dealt with quite simply by deleting these accounts, requesting new ones and the , it works again. But if you show patience for this situation and can contact your provider to ask what situation it is playing now, fill in the similar SMTP configuration that your provider will have to give you if you have contacted it. The situation you prescribe to us is good but not a problem on our part Thunderbird.

try to reach your email provider Gmail – Google ask for a manager there or first line help for your query to the configuration settings of their SMTP settings for your configuration that they might provide you.

Hello there

The reason could be that there are more e-mail accounts in your system of 8 PCs that could not have been properly configured or accepted.

You have already been in contact with them, the situation has been clarified on their part, a block for your Port has caused it, okay. You have clearly been assigned a new port number and/or filled in a new configuration
