Hi, Every time I try to open Firefox, a window pops up and asks to let it make changes to my computer. I checked the properties and I am not running Firefox as an administrator, which is what all the help pages said is the problem. I do not want to change the settings in my computer that would make the pop ups asking to make changes go away, as that is a significant security risk. Surely there must be another way to fix this issue? I have used Firefox for years without this problem and it is only just now happening. I love Firefox but this extra step is extremely annoying. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

The Background Updater has a list of requirements to run that you need to satisfy.

You can possibly do a clean reinstall and delete the current Firefox program folder and reinstall as a normal user.

Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
