Edit: I have since tried the "Refresh Firefox" feature, which deletes all extensions, and still have the same problem. I have also turned off hardware acceleration, same results.

Chosen solution

Go to about:config and try changing gfx.font-list-omt.enabled to false then restart the browser.

If that doesn't work, try changing gfx.e10s.font-list.shared to false as well.

I had to change both, but this worked...thanks a ton!
