Is it possible to make mouse side buttons (4 and 5) to move to the previous/next tab instead of back/forward as it is by default? (mouse: Logitech G304)

You can make the mouse wheel switch tabs by going to about:config and changing toolkit.tabbox.switchByScrolling to true.

If you want to remap controls, you will need to use third-party software like AutoHotkey.
