I recently added Private Browsing on my Firefox browser. I do not want it and have tried several times to find a way to remove it, but cannot. Please help me. I am not very computer literate, so need simple answers. I see the Icon on my lower bar and hoped it would have an option for removal, but cannot find one. Thank you.

You can set this pref to false on the about:config page to disable the extra PB icon on the Windows Taskbar.

  • about:config => browser.privateWindowSeparation.enabled = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. On the warning page, you can click "Accept the Risk and Continue"to open about:config.

I'm sorry, but all this is just too complicated and technical for me. I just wish I hadn't even seen the information about private browsing and should have known that it was something I should not be trying to do myself. I foolishly thought that if it didn't work for me, I would be able to just click on the icon at the bottom of my page and hit a delete button to get rid of it. I guess I will have to find someone in my community that understands how all this is done and pay them to advise me. Thank you for trying to help me.
