account not active ... contact administrator
I have loved being a Mozilla-stuff user intermittently since teaching on Netscape 1.1, and now am making Firefox 98.02 my default browser. I like both Safari and Firefox, and sometimes use them simultaneously for two accounts on the same service (not right now). My physically pristine 2015 Mac cannot install OS's past the 10.12 I have, so Safari is failing. But I am exasperated at runarounds when trying to set up this Firefox account. I used the emailed verification code and seemed to get in, but got the red-box message "This account... administrator... error." I cannot tell whether the site is letting me use it normally, but I think not. I just spent an hour in help forums. Geesh, tech complexity has mushroomed since my LAN work in the 90s, and you volunteers get to cope with inarticulate queries like mine! Upload is failing of jpg screen shot that has been made anonymous. Help?

Can you login to the Firefox account via this web page?
Do you only have a problem with accessing the account with the old device ? If you haven't used an account for a long time then it is possible that the account got deactivated.
You can possibly contact Rizki Kelimutu (Kiki) to look into this issue.
Thanks for the effort. This turned out to be a temporary situation, nevertheless an exasperating one. I have been able to log in normally three times (counting this one via the list's reply link), beginning a couple of (wasted) hours after opening the account. I guess you can now flag it "temporary issue that seemed to solve itself." Suggestion for the Mozilla gurus: If there is typically a lag in getting an account properly active, why not say so right up front? Being told to go for coffee and then log in sure would be being told the count is inactive for inexplicable unreason, eh? This could be done well in the same block of code that generates the red box. A hasty draft: "This account is inactive. If you just signed up and used the verification code, the inactive status is probably temporary, so give in an hour. If the problem affects a long-unused account, or if it persists, contact an administrator. Here is a link to a page that will help you do that."
Thank you for your feedback.
