Loss of all bookmarks

Hello, On May 14th 2021 an update occurred. I had no warning and I lost most of my computer settings as well all my Firefox bookmarks. I didn't manually backup my bookmarks lately so I thought I could retrieve them in the Windows.old file but there is no such file on my computer. If Firefow was also updated, why there hasn't been creation of a bookmarkbackup? Is there a way to recover my bookmarks? Thanks for your help. CLC

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.
