The "View History Sidebar" command is missing from the History menu after updating to Firefox 87. Is this a bug or was it intentional? The Bookmarks menu still has the "View Bookmarks Sidebar" command.

While I found it possible to work around the issue via Customize and adding the "Sidebars" control, this is quite unintuitive and awkward to have to use two different buttons in order to access your history. (IMHO, the History menu should just show the full history to remove the need for the sidebar, but that's a separate discussion.)

Chosen solution

The removal of "View History Sidebar" is part of the new Proton redesign and they decided to ship this change pre-Proton.

Thank you, cor-el. Marked as "solved" because your link shows that it was intentional, though the reasoning behind these changes makes little sense to me.

My elderly mother is used to using mouse and touchscreen/touchpad and she was asking how to get that sidebar to appear since she no longer sees it in the menu. Any ideas?

Update: Ok, nevermind... after digging around found a dedicated button for it.
