I have changed my BT mail password for security reasons but I can't send e-mails out through Thunderbird although I receive them OK.I probably need to change the password in Thunderbird.Could you please advise how I do that . Thanks Chris

If using 78*

  • Menu app icon > Options > Privacy & Security
  • Scroll down to 'Passwords' section

then instructions are the same as previous comment.

Try this:

If using 68*

  • Menu app icon > Options > Options > Security > 'Passwords' tab
  • Click on 'Saved Passwords'
  • Click on 'Saved Passwords'

As you use BT you should see this line or similar. smtp://mail.btinternet.com (smtp://mail.btinternet.com)

  • Right click on the smtp line and select 'Edit Password'
  • Enter new password correctly as it is case sensitive.
  • Click on 'Close'

Restart Thunderbird.
