Did You Tried The Refresh feature? (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

You have problems with one website. Then later the problem is with a different site.

How is it not loading? The whole page is slow, pictures are slow to load, any other information?

About how often is this? Did you just start the computer/Firefox?

the problem started with one site but has now spread to multiple sites over the last few months....

the page partially loads or sometimes won't load at all....a few examples of my commonly used websites where i am facing this problem are:

www.yahoo.com www.nba.com www.cricinfo.com www.ihg.com www.facebook.com

i have also not been able to use gmail over the last few weeks....the page will load till the sign-up page but will not progress beyond that....

i have restarted my computer & the browser, deleted cookies, cache & even the browser itself but after loading it again the same problem persists with the same sites....all this while these same sites open fine on other browsers....

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}
