How can I access my Firefox favorites?

more options

How can I access my Firefox favorites? My computer got a virus and will not restart. I want to access my Firefox favorites. I did set up a sync account in Firefox but the computer crashed before I was able to sync to another device.

Is there a way to access my favorites if I have an account?

If you have a Firefox Account, and it contains data, then you should be able to retrieve that data on another device. You will need to still have access to the email account for verification.

Even if your old computer will not start up, you may be able to copy your data out by attaching the hard drive from that computer to another computer. This could be a DIY project if you don't mind opening computers and moving a hard drive into an external enclosure (connects using USB), or you may want to get assistance from a local tech.

You will need to pull out your data from:

d:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\

AppData is a hidden folder, so see: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files

And make sure you are copying from the "Roaming" path, not the "Local" path. Bookmarks, passwords, etc. are stored on the Roaming path. Local just has temporary files.
