Can't send E-mails with Thunderbird.

I can send and receive E-mails online GMX mail but I can not send E-mails anymore using Thunderbird. Everything worked fine until Oct. 13. I made no changes. I get this error when I try to send an E-mail. Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.gmx.com timed out. Try again.

That doesn't work. I ended up getting rid of Thunderbird which doesn't work anymore and I installed Evolution which works. Problem solved.
