New tab not going to "about:newtab"

When I click a new tab, it directs to "moz-extension://299d4d81-6a8a-4ae7-b2b3-d952ee3f03e4/newtab/index.html" which results in a "FIle Not Found" warning. I have to manually enter "about:newtab" to get the proper New Tab page. How to I get it New Tab to call up the correct page?

One of your extensions has inserted itself in place of the normal new tab page. Thank you for sharing your list. I would say this one looks most suspicious:

WeatherTab Addon

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. All Mozilla-installed extensions are hidden from this page, so everything here is yours to enable/disable/remove. If in doubt, disable.

Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Any improvement?
