can i add a new permanent category to a calendar event?

For each new calendar event, I have to create a new category, ex. Appointment, but it doesn't "stick"! Is there a way to create permanent categories?

You can create new categories via the Options window. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/configuring-lightning

From your statement above it isn't obvious whether this is what you're doing.

Thanks for the reply! I clicked on Tools/Options/Calendar/Categories, then clicked on Add... and added a new category and color. Thanks again.
