What is your computer system and Firefox?

Did you click on the icon? What about a right click?

I have WINDOWS 8. And, yes I have click on the icon, both right and left click.

Right click and select Unpin. After, start Firefox, then Pin it.

Here is what I see when I RIGHT click on Firfox icon at the bottom:

Task Open new tab Open new window New private window Firefox Pin to taskbar Close all windows

In that EXACT order. it doesnt give me an option to"Unpin." And, there are 2 boxes that appear when i rest the mouse over the Foxfire icon. When I click the "X" it wont allow me to close them.

Check the Task Manager. And are you sure this is the task bar or quick launch?

Can you access the system menu via alt+Space in case the window is off-screen?

Try to rename (or delete) the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.

"AppData" (XP: Application Data; Mac: ~/Library; Linux: ~/.mozilla) is a hidden folder.
