Others have this problem but I haven’t seen a solution. Problem occurred for the first time today (08/20/25). I opened thunderbird on my Windows 10 PC. All updates and thunderbird are current. I can create and send emails fine, but I can not download new mail. I can see 20 new emails on my phone but can not download to my PC. I called AT&T support. My email is sbcglobal domain. They tried to help. Went into server settings and the AUTHORIZATION TYPE was OATH2. There were 4 other options. I tried them all. (Normal PW, Encrypted PW and 2 others). Nothing worked. And now, OATH2 is not one of the available options. No idea how it was originally set. AT&T said that was a Microsoft Authorization type, so I contacted MS support (chat). They were no help. They immediately said “Thunderbird is a 3rd party client, we don’t support it”. I told him it might have been the most recent Windows update that caused the problem. He said “Contact Mozilla”.

Any help would be appreciated. Another question I have is, if I were to delete the Thunderbird application and re-download it. Would I lose all my emails and folders? That would be life-changing in a bad, bad way.

Been having issues for quite a while with messages, containing images, loading very slowly. After downloading messages (64-bit 115.9.0 Windows), I click on a message that contains multiple images. All the text shows immediately, but in place of the message, all I see is a highlighted link to 'image'. After 15-20 seconds, each actual image will start loading. Any ideas what is happening here? like the title says, usually at least once a day firefox will just stop loading web pages entirely. more specifically, it gets stuck loading any page infinitely. occasionally if i wait long enough things will start loading again, but usually that time never comes and i have to restart the browser. i'm kind of a tab hoarder so restarting the browser can be annoying in itself, since i have to wait for the browser to load. i'm not really sure how to troubleshoot this with extensions and the like since i haven't noticed any trend in when the problem occurs. weirdly enough, it happened while i was typing this and while every other website fails to load, the mozilla support site is consistently fine. any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Several sites I frequently visit have the option to skip the verification code process "for this browser". Although I check the box for this choice, the next time I go to log in there, it still requires me to go through the process. What do I have to do to fix this? Thanks in advance for your help!

i have a big problem with settings of privacy and security. the problem is i cant edit this option ( Allow Firefox to automatically trust third-party root certificates you install ) and its greyed out . i made everything ( refresh - troubleshoot - uninstall ) and with the first click on singing my account on Firefox and add my restore my add-ons after setting up windows this option become unavailable (greyed out) and cant edit it. i need a solution without going to set up a new windows because its so tiring to set up a new windows to edit this option. please give me a solution its emergency. thanks a lot.

This is not the first time you have sent an email to me indicating I should "View all sites where your info is exposed", and each time I receive your emails the sites you suggest are sites I have never seen before, let alone logged into with a password.

I use a Password Organizer Book, with all of my logins and passwords for each site I use. I do not use a password app, and have NEVER used a password app. Each time I go to the website you suggest, It's always a site I have never seen before so it would be impossible to login and change the password. I always check my Password Organizer Book to make sure.

I don't know what you want me to do since I cannot login to the website you are suggesting. Is there action I should be taking? I don't know what it would be, but if you know please let me know.

Upgraded to FF 142.0 and don't have the Link Preview that was described in the new release info. You can now see what’s behind a link before visiting it with Link Previews. Long press a link (or right-click and choose Preview Link). Previews can optionally include AI-generated key points, which are processed on your device to protect your privacy. Long press does nothing and right click on link doesn't have a preview option. I am using Windows 10 which is current and 64 bit. Don't really care all that much, but they said it was there for EN version and it isn't.

I have used TB since Windows XP days, so very familiar with it. Currently using 140.2.0esr on Windows 10.

Two or three days ago TB updated to 140.x and since then, it has been crashing every time I compose a message. Within two minutes at most, the program hangs, the GUI becomes unresponsive, and Process Explorer reports that TB is using 16.79% of the CPU. It stays that way indefinitely.

After a lot of observation (and saving drafts, and restarting TB over and over and over) I have narrowed this down to typing the apostrophe character. Typing a word like "shouldn't" will hang TB, sometimes on the ' character, and sometimes a second or two later which allows a few more letters to be typed. The problem persists with Troubleshooting Mode enabled.

I have changed nothing in TB. At least, nothing I am aware of. Same keyboard as last week.

Yes, I realize that this sounds crazy.

Hi Folks, When I open a particular web site and click login Firefox shows/suggests use of my actual username. I'd like that to NOT happen (i.e. show nothing) for that (or a few) web sites. How to get rid of "Your browser is being managed by your organization"? This thing is driving me crazy(er)! Please 'dumb down' your reply, as I am not computer literate. If it's a malicious attack, my anti-virus is not picking it up. Thanks!

I have a new iPad and want to transfer my browser history and settings from my old iPad to the new one. My iPad is for private use only. The only computer I have is my work laptop. The settings and history are very different between Firefox-at-work and Firefox-at-home. How do I get the new ipad to synch with my old one? The assumption seems to be that the user will want to synch everything to their computer and I have no use for work crap in my private life.

I use an IMac (15.6) to sign political petitions online on sources I trust, but the new Firefox version (128.14) seems to require that all GPC be disabled to do so. Can GPC be used selectively? Attached is a typical warning. Thanks for your expert thoughts.

I used to be able to move 25 to 50 emails at a time from my inbox to an archive folder like "2025" folder. Now I can't move more that 1 or 2 at a time. Thunderbird just locks up. I have 1500 emails in the archived 2025 folder right now. Is that too many? This feature used to work.
